Simranjit kaur gill was born in gaunsgarh(ludhiana). she completed her school studies from government school gaunsgarh then went to chandigarh where she completed her M.A. (hons ) in political science and L.L.B. from Punjab university chandigarh. during her time in the university she was the first female who emerged as Leader of Panjab University Chandigarh . there she started as Girl Wing Incharge of SOPU. further she was elected as General Secretary of NSUI (2011-13) and it was for the first time any student Party appointed a female head of the Party. After breaking the patriarchal system NSUI appointment Simranjit Kaur Gill as Chief Patron NSUI in the year 2014. She was recognised as First Real female Student Leader of panjab university 75% of the students in PU are Girls but Girls were never recognised as leader. They were merely seen as dummy candidates in elections but in recent years Simranjit Kaur Gill emerged as the real leader not the dummy. She stood against the patriarchy and filled the spirit of real leadership in the girls. And emerged as real leader and encouraged involvement of more girls in the student politics as leader not just followers resulting to that girls in 2014 get real respect as leaders and become leaders from cheerleaders.at the time Simranjit kaur gill was Chief Patron of NSUI ,She went on hunger strike for the rights of girls specifically she raised the demand for 24/7 library entry for girls, but another student union GGSU attacked on her and her team during peaceful hunger strike but she didn’t give up even after attack and finally her demands for accepted by PU authorities. Due to 7 days of hunger strike for the demand of liberty and quality for Girls Students(Hostelers) she was taken to the GMMS hospital sector 16 as her condition became critical. She founded a Student Front in 2016 which won the PUCSC election within 16days of formation. Further going ahead in her political career she was always praised for bold nature and fearless nature and later become the Youngest Female From Non Political Family to be appointed as Secretary of Punjab Pradesh Congress Commitee in july 2016 but she resigned from the post after a month for activism as she wanted to do more than just earning the name, fame & power and from then onwards constantly raising her voice against the wrong doings in the society. Since then she neither joined any political party nor accepted any political post. Apart from her political achievements she served in various other organisations from time to time.

she started her professional career as an advocate from district courts mohali and currently she is successfully pursuing this career at P&H high court Chandigarh. In the year 2019 simranjit kaur gill, a lawyer and social activist started her campaign “ਬਚਪਨ ਬਚਾਉ” Save Childhood “ from Child abuse by focusing specifically on sex abuse. She was authorised by Punjab School Education Department to conduct lectures and seminars in all the schools across punjab to aware Childrens about Child abuse and its legal remedies. This is the First ever Campaign in punjab which deals from creating awareness regarding each and every aspect of child abuse to their legal procedure and counselling of children. She imparts free legal aid to child abuse victims and their families .
